Email: support@practicexp.com · We reply within two school days, and usually the same day.
PracticeXP is practice-tracking software for K–12 school band, choir and orchestra programs. It is sold to schools, not to families — which shapes most of the answers below.
Students and parents cannot create an account here. Your school has to be set up first, and your director adds you to the roster. Once they have, you sign in with your school email address and the account creates itself.
If you are a director and your school is not set up yet, use the request form on the home page and we will get back to you.
The phone apps can post one daily reminder at a time you pick. It is scheduled by your own phone — it is not a message from us or from your school, and nothing about it (whether you set one, what time, whether it fired) ever leaves the device. If reminders never appear, check that notifications are allowed for PracticeXP in your phone's Settings; iOS only asks once, and if it was declined the switch has to be turned back on there.
The website cannot send reminders. That is the one thing the apps do that it can't.
Ask your director. They can correct names, grades, instruments, and practice entries directly from the Teacher Dashboard, which is faster than going through us.
Email support@practicexp.com from the address on the account, or have your director email on your behalf, and say you want the account deleted. We will confirm with your school — because the school, not us, controls its education records — and then delete the account and the practice history attached to it. We complete these within 30 days and usually within a few days.
Deletion is handled this way rather than with a button in the app on purpose. These accounts belong to a school's roster: a student who deletes their own account mid-year removes their director's record of their practice grade, and in most districts that record is an education record the school is required to keep. Routing it through the school is what keeps a self-service tap from quietly destroying someone's grade.
Deleted data can persist in point-in-time backups for a short window before it is fully gone; the schedule is in the privacy policy. Earlier deletion is available on request.
If you receive the monthly practice summary and would rather not, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of it — that is permanent and does not need us. For anything about your child's data, start with your director, who can see and correct everything in their program. We coordinate with the school on requests they can't resolve.
What we collect about students, and what the AI features do and don't send, is set out in the privacy policy. Every AI feature ships switched off and only a school can turn one on.
Security & data isolation covers how schools are kept separate, what we do and do not claim, and the exact list of hosts to allow through a web filter. Districts needing a Data Privacy Agreement, a W-9, or a completed security questionnaire should email us and we will turn it around.
Bugs: email us with what you did, what happened, and what you expected, plus your device and whether you were on the app or the website. Security problems go to the same address — please give us a chance to fix it before disclosing it publicly, and we will not pursue anyone who reports something in good faith.
